Plug-in updates, backups, security checks, minor edits and more: WordPress websites need regular attention. Leave it to me.

WordPress websites need attention
Having a WordPress-based website is great, but it's not a "set it and forget it" type of platform. As a database-driven website, it has a lot of moving parts, like the platform itself, the framework, the theme, and the plug-ins. Many of those pieces will need to be updated regularly, both for software compatibility reasons and, in some cases, for security reasons.
It's also a good idea to make regular backups of your website, and to keep an eye on the site's overall security, because without the proper precautions, it's also potentially more vulnerable to attack than a simpler, non-WordPress website might be.
What I'll do every month:
- Update your version of WordPress whenever needed
- Update your version of the Genesis framework (if applicable)
- Update all plug-ins whenever needed
- Resolve any version-compatibility conflicts between plug-ins
- Back up your website
- Do a security check
- Remove any comment spam (if applicable)
- Do any minor content edits that you request

The benefits of having a regular website maintenance plan
Some reasons to consider leaving the maintenance of your WordPress website to me:
It ensures that your website will stay current, fully functional, and secure.
As mentioned above, WordPress-based sites require more attention than a simpler Bootstrap-based site (for example). The longer it goes without updates, the more of a chance there is that it could stop working exactly as intended.
It's a worry-free solution.
Simply put, getting a maintenance contract means that the upkeep of your website is one less thing that you'll have to worry about doing yourself. If you're running a typical small business, you've got plenty of other things on your mind already.
This plan also includes any minor content edits.
In addition to updating the software behind your website, the maintenance contract also includes any minor edits that you want me to make to your content.
I get to know your site and your business.
If you ever need anything more than just minor edits to your website, I'm ready and able to prepare an estimate for the work, and to do it quickly for you because I already know your website, as well as your products and services.
Skip the learning curve.
True, one of the advantages of having a WordPress website is that it allows you to update it yourself if you want to. But in my experience, although that initially sounds like a great feature to many of my clients, often they discovered that even though it has a user-friendly interface, WordPress still has a learning curve, and learning WordPress takes time that they don't have.
Put that time into growing your own business.
By getting me to maintain your site for you, you save your own precious time for your business (and personal life).
