Best Light Communication is John and Frank Herr, two multitasking brothers with over 20 years of expertise in communication and a real passion for computers and the Internet. We have been building web sites for businesses and non-profits since 1995. To keep costs down for our clients, we do most of the work ourselves, contracting out only when required.

As an Internet-based business, we are able to provide our services to clients around the world. Our actual offices are in two locations in Canada: an old house in Toronto, Ontario and a farmhouse near Acton Vale, Québec. If you listen closely late at night, you can hear all the emails whizzing back and forth between the two provinces :-)

John Herr
John handles all of the techie back-end coding chores for Best Light Communication - all of the HTML / JavaScript / PHP / mySQL / Cold Fusion / PDF and so on. His first career was as a pioneer and entrepreneur in the field of organic farming in Québec, during which time, among other accomplishments, he helped lay the groundwork for today's acceptance of organic farming techniques, and used materials from his farm to build his own house.

Since 1997, he has transformed himself into the quintessential geek, whose idea of a good time now is fixing crashed computers for friends, or setting up an entire home network from spare parts. Organic farming's loss is the Internet's gain: John brings a farmer's can-do resourcefulness and instinctive frugality to his approach to web design. If there's a simpler, smarter or more economical way to achieve a goal on a web site, John will find it.

Frank Herr
Frank does all of the information organizing, copywriting and graphic design work for Best Light web sites. He brings 20+ years of experience in communication, a training in graphic design and a natural talent for writing to his involvement in the company. Past roles have included Marketing Manager for several high-tech companies, Information Officer for one not-for-profit organization, and General Manager for another. Throughout his career he has produced many creative, world-class communication pieces that made his employers shine while saving them many thousands of dollars in outsourcing costs.

Frank's passion is communication, and his playground is today's rich array of digital communication tools: web design, digital photography, graphic design, destop publishing, and desktop video filming and editing. And in his spare time, he records his own music. Digitally, of course.
